TEMPORARY CREATION

Stars they dance at God’s command
Light up their eyes to brighten night
The moon it joins them hand in hand
With reflective face to a greater light

Of burning sun of daylight hours
Yet her fiery face the clouds can hide
To sprinkle earth with gleeful showers
Filling streams rejoicing of mountainside

Mighty thunders clap, loud their voice
Plaintive winds they wail to harmonise
High mountains sing, the vales rejoice
From all creation praise does arise

Giving glory alone for their birth
From words just spoken and it was done
To mighty God who formed the earth
The Father, Spirit and the Son

Yet all nature who reflects His power
To lift up mountains and spread the seas
To clothe the fields with grass and flower
And plant the forest with her trees

Shall be one day as a scroll
Folded by His hand to be no more
When mighty waves of the ocean roll
Cease their breaking on the sandy shore

They of temporary station here
Of firmament, land and sea
For awhile will just appear
And then shall cease to be

Yet they can speak of glory
And know from whence it came
For from beginning is their story
When from His words they came

Look and see and know He is
In the message that they deliver
They exalt His name yet knowing this
They will not exist forever

Yet we who know and understand
Although from dust we came
Who put ourselves in the Creator’s hand
Shall forever praise His name

TAKE ME TO THE THRONE

Take me to the throne
Lift me up in prayer
When you are kneeling
At your bedside there
Pray for me in earnest
Bended on your knee
When you talk to God
Please tell Him of me

Chorus….

Carry my name to Him
Don’t leave me all alone
When you kneel in prayer
Take me to the throne

There’s sickness in my life
Pain I cannot bear
Sorrow floods my soul
And no one seems to care
Whisper my name to Him
Let my fears be known
When you pray again
Take me to the throne

Chorus….

Carry my name to Him
Don’t leave me all alone
When you kneel in prayer
Take me to the throne

Tell Him of my heartaches
The torrent of my tears
The burdens that I carry
My doubts and my fears
Who can I turn to
Except my sister, brother
Did He not ask of us
To pray for one another

Chorus….

Carry my name to Him
Don’t leave me all alone
When you kneel in prayer
Take me to the throne

To help bear the burden
To lift a heavy load
Help one who stumbles
Along life’s weary road
When you visit God again
Please don’t go alone
Remember me my friend
Take me to the throne

Chorus….

Carry my name to Him
Don’t leave me all alone
When you kneel in prayer
Take me to the throne

JUST THREE WORDS

Just three words said it all
From the cross came the call
Just before He bowed His head
These are the words my Saviour said

Chorus
It is finished, yes it’s finished
There was nothing more my Saviour could do
It is finished, yes it’s finished
As Jesus died on a cross for me and you

All the work now was done
Finished there by the Son
He fulfilled His Father’s will
As He died for all on that hill

Chorus
It is finished, yes it’s finished
There was nothing more my Saviour could do
It is finished, yes it’s finished
As Jesus died on a cross for me and you

All debt for sin was paid
All guilt on Him was laid
For redemption He gave all
As from dying lips came that call

Chorus
It is finished, yes it’s finished
There was nothing more my Saviour could do
It is finished, yes it’s finished
As Jesus died on a cross for me and you

Just trust in Him alone
Works of yours can’t atone
For sins that destroy your soul
Only Jesus can make you whole

Chorus
It is finished, yes it’s finished
There was nothing more my Saviour could do
It is finished, yes it’s finished
As Jesus died on a cross for me and you

Just those words from that tree
Finished work in those three
Atonement now, full complete
Hear again His loud voice repeat

Chorus
It is finished, yes it’s finished
There was nothing more my Saviour could do
It is finished, yes it’s finished
As Jesus died on a cross for me and you

ANOTHER GOSPEL

The tired old preacher stood in his pulpit
Bent and grey haired with age
He slowly opened his battered Bible
Leafing over it page by page

Then he looked over his congregation
Waiting to hear what he would say
As he closed his Bible shut
He said, my sermon will be different today

I have preached here fifty years or more
The gospel that I thought I knew
But now I don’t really know
If I have been preaching the truth to you

I have told you the Bible is trustworthy
I have told you to believe in its word
For this book was inspired by God
Almighty, sovereign and Lord

Now to my shame I must say it
I have been on the internet
Reading the opinions of men
Something I am beginning to regret

So I am trying to bring you this sermon
Although it’s even confusing to me
But learned men who profess to be Christian
Say this is the way it should be

Now excuse me if I stumble
And lose my way here and there
For they have so many theories
Added to so often I am aware

The old preacher raised his voice
Though feeble his words rang clear
Listen to me my dear flock
And the Gospel of men you will hear

In the beginning God created
Then maybe again He did not
Perhaps He allowed some evolution
To help make us this human lot

We must not believe the entire Bible
Pick and choose what you like best
For scientist have proved so much
That this Book does not stand the test

I have read that God was confused
And maybe did not know how to count
When He said six days of creation
How could He do it in that amount?

Now these are the words of those
Who say they believe in His name
But of course they know much more
Than God himself to His shame!

I used to know the Gospel so well
Sure I learned it at my Mother’s knee
But since I went and read some debates
I wonder just what she was teaching me!

She told me God loved all the world
Now it seems He loves just a few
And even the one’s He has chosen
Can lose their salvation its true

I preached to you from the Bible
That was given to me by my Mother
I believed in her Saviour too
But now they tell me I should not bother

For how can you believe His word
His sayings are so way out
They have so messed with my mind
That they have made this old preacher doubt

Then the preacher raised his voice again
Listen my friends unto me
If we had not God’s Holy Word
Then this is how all my sermons would be!

But I have in my hand this wondrous book
I have read its every page
I believe it is God’s will revealed
To debate with Him I won’t engage!

I will preach its glorious truths
This old time Gospel pure and true
And rest assured my little flock
I will never preach another Gospel to you!

SWEET WILDFLOWER

I climbed the mountainside
Clambered over rock and stone
Felt the peace of solitude
On its peak silently alone

Then I saw it blooming there
Though its leaves were torn, tattered
The wildflower of the mountain
With strong winds cruelly battered

I could see it struggled hard to live
Of its plight I took some pity
Mountain wildflower why bloom here
Come to my garden in the city

There you will live in calmer clime
Your life will be more at ease
No strong wind will harm your there
Your face kissed then by gentle breeze

I seemed to hear its voice reply
On its face a raindrop tear
I cannot go to a city garden
For my home is on the mountain here

God has planted me where He would
Here my abode the mountain high
If you took me from its slopes
Then alas my heart would die

Here I am nearer Heaven’s sky
He has blessed with such a view to see
Of all the places I could have been
This was the home He had for me

Battered yes and bruised my leaves
Yet the sun shines on my face
Remove me not for not His will
That I should ever leave this place

I descended from the mountainside
Over me again its peak did tower
Pondering over the lesson I had learned
Taught to me by the sweet wildflower

A NARROW MINDED CHRISTIAN

I’m a narrowed minded Christian
Because I walk a narrow way
Jesus told me to walk in it
And never from it to stray

Some call at me to chide
We are Christians too they claim
But we can walk a broader road
Yet serve God still the same

We can be of this world
Just a little bit you know
Come leave that narrow way
It’s all right for you to go

Don’t be so narrow minded
You can worship as you please
Forget about truth and spirit
When you pray upon your knees

But God knows my very thoughts
He looks within my heart
I think it’s really best for me
Not this narrow way to part

For some they said who did His work
I read on Judgement day
The Lord replies, I never knew you
And sends them on their way

So you may call me narrow minded
But I’ll stick to His word
I will never have an open mind
To anything that betrays my Lord

I’m a narrow minded Christian
And that’s the way I’ll stay
For He told me strait is the road
And to walk the narrow way!
