TAPPETY TOE

I'm a toe tapping, hand clapping, happy kind of soul

When the music grips my heart and over me does roll
There is a chance, my spirit will dance, I wont hold still
I'm going to dance for Jesus I really really will

He sought me He bought me He shed His blood for me

When I'm going to praise Him I will do it with glee
My arms will raise, I will praise, my feet will dance the floor
For Jesus is my Saviour the One that I adore

My toes are itching always twitching to tap a rhythm out

I always long for a gospel song that makes me want to shout
My burdens lifted, I am gifted with life that lasts for ever
So to praise Jesus every day will be my endeavour

So let me tap let me clap if the spirit moves me along

To sing aloud with cheerful heart to a gospel song
You can sit if you dont get it but just let me be
A toe tapping hand clapping one for that is surely me

TOE TAPPING HAND CLAPPING

I'm a toe tapping, hand clapping, happy kind of soul

I'M SINGING SHOUTING

I'm singing shouting there's no doubting

My Saviour walks with me
Troubles around but on solid ground
I stand from sin set free

The world in shock but the solid Rock

To it I gladly cling
People recoil when troubles boil
But God my comfort will bring

I will not doubt my way out

Is the pathway of the cross
When I let Him in to take my sin
My soul will not suffer loss

Oh yes I'm singing my cheers are ringing

My hands in triumph raised
With joy I'm spouting my spirit shouting
My Lord is mighty to be praised

THE SUMMER SEAT

Where the rose drops her perfume

sweetly in the air
where the lily nods her head
with beauty that is rare
Where the pansies and the daises
Smile up with glee
Its on the summer seat
Where you will find me

All the garden is in bloom

Beauty all around
The butterfly wings on her way
and the bee gives of her sound
The birds sing merrily
from the leafy tree
and in my summer seat
I am as content as can be

There I view God's handiwork

Aided a bit by me
He give me hands to plant and toil
but His sun and rain came free
He kissed the ground with His breath
Give a little heat
All I had to do was just sit back
In my summer seat

I remember once He prayed

In a garden long ago
where sweatdrops came from His brow
mingled with blood in a flow
I remember also the wooden cross
He hung from in the heat
The cruel tree held His body
That for Him was His summer seat

But death failed in her bid

To keep Him in her hold
For He arose to the air
From the tomb lying cold
Now He sits there on high
For His church to wait
To gather them to His throne
More that a summer seat

I enjoy my time here looking

at the beauty all around
Marvelling at the wonder
That comes from the ground
But sometime I will be gone
My Jesus for to meet
Then all thats left in my garden
is an empty summer seat

YOU CAN DIG

You can dig and you can sow

But you cannot make the flowers grow
You can sweat and you can toil
Arrange your plants in the soil

Water and weed hour by hour

But your efforts wont bring a flower
Though God has given a gardeners heart
A seed thats sown wont ever start

To grow unless He will bid

It sprout from earth where it is hid
For God He brings the sun and rain
If not your efforts would be in vain

He breathes life into every plant

To do this yourself you simply can't
You work so long with hands that harden
But it's God that produces a beautiful garden

On every stem He puts a flower

Kisses it with sun and shower
Colours every petal with His finger
Adds sweet perfume that will linger
As a gardener this I know
It's God who makes everything grow

THE TIRED OLD GARDENER

He sat silently on his bench

A far away look in his eye
Thinking of younger days
He remembered with a sigh

He spoke softly the old gardener

As the sun kissed his face
Between you and me dear Lord
We sure made this a beautiful place

With the green of the lawn

I mow with effort and care
And the shrubs and the flowers
That I planted everywhere

You give me a half acre Lord

And for that I thank you
But I let you look after some it
There was too much for me to do

You filled your half with docks

Nettles briars and weeds
While I sweated in mine Lord
Doing all my deeds

But I knew you were a wildlife gardener

And you sure made a great success
Only if I had done the same in mine
I think it would have looked a real mess

But I know you helped me Lord

When flower seeds I did sow
There was nothing more I could do
Only watch you make them grow

Thank you dear Lord for the pleasure

And the joy you give me in my garden
But most of all for sins removed
When you give me your full pardon

Now Lord I'm old and bent with care

With muscles all taut and pain in my back
I can hardly move or bend down to weed
Every part of my body hurts with an ache

Oh Lord forgive me my flowing tears

As I sit here quietly crying
For I cant work this land anymore
And my spirit is slowly dying

I long for your garden up above

Where the roses they bloom forever
Where I shall sit beside the crystal water
And that place I shall leave no never

Take your gardener home Lord

You know he has done his best
Then the tired old gardener breathed his last
God had taken him home to rest

THE CHAIN

The chains of sin get tighter

Binding more each day
The devil is working hard
So you wont break away

He gives you a heavy load

Of sorrow and despair
The vehicle of sin he uses
To bring you to his lair

It is the lake of fire
The awful darkened pit
Oh who will really save you
From the pain of it

There is One who is standing

With nailed scarred hands and feet
He bled, He died and rose again
And reigns from Glory seat

He can unloose the fetters

Break the awful chains
Bring comfort to your wounded heart
And take away your pains

His blood it washes the deepest sin

Until you are as white as snow
His arms opened up for you
Are the only place to go

Go seek Him while He is willing

Dont let Him call in vain
For He will surely save you
From the binding of the chain

THE GREEN JUNIPER TREE

In the soft freshness of the morning

When the dew bathes the ground
Kissed with new born sun rays
Where the dawn gives of her sound

From the bird and the humming bee

So eager for their busy day
The lilt of their sweet music
Like an orchester in harmony play

The voice of a grazing cow

Called plaintive soft and low
Her gentle sad brown eyes
Watched the way the man did go

There grew the green juniper tree

Beside the wandering of a stream
He sat underneath its boughs
Where sleep took him to dream

He dreamt once again he was young

A gentle kind boy once more
But his heart ached within him
His body bruised and sore

The boy had set up in innocence

A pillar of granite stone
Where he prayed in earnest to God
In a quiet meadow all alone

Jesus dear Jesus I need you

You are my only friend
Take away my heartache and teardrops
I want them all to end

He knew in his heart Jesus answered

Of that he was very sure
God helped him to live a good life
And his soul He kept clean and pure

The dream led him strangely on

A life course it did run
It brought him to end times
And the setting of the evening sun

He saw them lay him down

Some wept so bitter and free
As they stood around his grave
Beneath an old gnarled juniper tree

He then saw streets of gold

His mansion and a crystal sea
In the beautiful land of heaven
Grew life's eternal tree

He awoke from his fitful sleep

Remembering all he had seen
Then wandered lazily away
From the juniper tree growing green

THE MAN AT THE GATE

Who is that my sister lamb who stands at yonder gate

A shepherd's crook in His hand patiently He stands in wait
A gentle look in His eyes a face that looks so kind
Why is He standing there my sister why does He stand and mind

Don't you remember my brother lamb when we went astray

In the wilderness we wandered, soon we lost our way
Then this Man who is a shepherd caught us in His hold
He placed us on His shoulders and carried us back to this fold

He is the good shepherd He guards us night and day

He keeps the wolf from entering, our enemies He keeps at bay
He gave us this green pasture so we can lie at ease
He is the saviour of our souls and Him we should always please

Oh my sister lamb I just love this shepherd of the sheep

Though I am just a lamb He still has me in His keep
I know that He saved me one day from a terrible fate
I am so glad He is there this Man standing at the gate

GOD'S BOOK

A little girl came into a room one day

While her mother hoovered the floor
She saw an unopened Bible on the table
And with questioning eyes she did implore

Mummy whose is this dusty book
Her mother answered back with a nod
Why my child don't you know
This book belongs to God

The little girl thought for a moment

Then in her innocence she said
Don't you think we should give it back to him
For in this house it is never read

Yes many a Bible lies unopened

It's pages never once turned
It's words were breathed from almighty God
For it's truths many have died and burned

Yet it is treated so lightly

Although it comes at great price
It offers you the words of salvation
But it is only opened up once or twice

So if you dont want to read it

When it tells of life beyond the sod
Your neglect of this precious book
Is like handing it back to God
