There are many bridges over rivers that you cross
But only one over Jordan
A link from life to death and then from death to life
The bridge of safe crossing over the waters strife
It’s the bridge of redemption paid by precious blood
Its the only safe way to pass over Jordan
Jesus is it, the mediator between God and men
The bridge from bank to bank you will never cross again
Many will not find it other bridges they try to build
Labours of their hands with good works they will gild
But they will collapse in the dashing of the foam
Only the bridge of salvation will see you safely home
Careering to the grave you’re on the slippery slope
Dark waters are waiting, get on the bridge of hope
Don’t flounder in the waters of the river of the lost
Find the bridge of safety at the foot of the Cross
