SOLID ROCK

I trod the ground of barren land
But all was mire and shifting sand
I cried, was heard the anguished plea
My Saviour came and rescued me

Chorus

Solid Rock unmoving ground
I stand on it now safe and sound
Solid firm o yes I’m sure
My soul on it is now secure

The barren land was all but waste
All of its fruit was bad to taste
Bitter water quenched not my thirst
With emptiness my life was cursed

Chorus

Solid Rock unmoving ground
I stand on it now safe and sound
Solid firm o yes I’m sure
My soul on it is now secure

The sand it dragged, pulled down by mire
Saw the Rock to lift me higher
From yawning pit and darkened grave
The hand of Christ was there to save

Chorus

Solid Rock unmoving ground
I stand on it now safe and sound
Solid firm o yes I’m sure
My soul on it is now secure

Jesus Saviour my solid rock
Loving arms of His held in their lock
Earthquake, tidal wave, sinking sand
The Rock stays firm and here I stand

Chorus

Solid Rock unmoving ground
I stand on it now safe and sound
Solid firm o yes I’m sure
My soul on it is now secure
