A SCRIBBLED NOTE

One day in the sand
They came with stones in hand
The only reason why
A sinful woman should die
But He stooped His back to them
Those without sin could condemn
No one knows what he wrote
In His scribbled note

Chorus

Just a scribbled note
In the sand He wrote
As He bent His head
Where it could be seen and read
No one has told what were the words
This scribbled note of the Lords
But He did not condemn but forgive the woman instead

They took Him to the hill
More of His blood to spill
Nailed Him to the tree
Where all His pain could see
Then on a parchment note
Mocking words they wrote
Above His crown of thorn
They fixed it there to scorn

Chorus

Just a scribbled note
On a poster they wrote
Nailed above His head
Where it could be seen and read
He said He was the king of Jews
Tried to mock Him with this news
But He was the mighty King spilling His blood of red.

Oh this One of love
Reigning high above
Moved men to write His words
In the Bible, book of the Lords
On parchment paper wrote
And scribbled every note
For everyone to read
That Christ will meet their need

Chorus

More than a scribbled note
On parchment paper wrote
For the ink of crimson red
Was the blood that Jesus shed
He is the sinners friend
His love it knows no end
When you read the Bible His note to you is read
