A BED OF ROSES
Must we go on a bed of roses
We'd go to heaven but in comfort
Why others did all the toil
No need to hide in cave or den
A sleeping people at our ease
We have freedom we have peace
Maybe some day in our land
Thank God you have that bed of slumber

A CHAT IN THE GARDEN
Good morning God we meet again
Maybe child much later on
I wont dear Lord for I have learned
But now Lord I need to weed
There you can send me a little prayer
Yes Lord I love to hear your voice
Here is the lovely lily Lord
Those roses over there
You remember my son He died
Lord I am so glad I am on my knees
I remember He prayed in a garden
No wonder I love the garden Lord
My child you love its beauty
When I call you home you will be ready
But now go and rest my child
Thank you Lord for our chat

THE BABBLING BROOK
I sat today by the gently babbling brook
Sheltered, my rest under an old oak tree
Countless times the waters of the gentle stream
I know of a stream where I once plunged in
The sweet ripple of the brook is like unto my Saviour
Oh babbling brook may you ever flow
THE MISSION
The mission is over the preacher is silent
The warning of hell from the pulpit was preached
Yet much rejoicing for the souls that were saved
How sinner friend did you reject the mercy call
The mission is over but the work will go on
We were blessed we were challenged we wept and we cried
THE OLD HOME
I knew your age was old
Heavy stones built your walls
I remember the open hearth
A tiley lamp hanging from the ceiling
A chaff mattress to sleep on
You were basic my dear old home
Of course things changed through the years
Now the rain it beat upon the tin
But I could never stop writing
But my heart now aches with pain
Not a stone of you they left
Old house we knew no better
I fancy that our bodies
The world will look for us
But also I know in my heart
Old home we loved you

OH THE PEACE
Oh the peace oh the joy
want to shout it, may I sing it
Thank you Lord, thank you so
Give you thanks, give You praise
You are mine I am yours
SLOWING DOWN
I skipped upon the feet of childhood
Middle age with slower gait
I wonder where the years have gone
Dear Lord I have so wasted years
Now my race is nearly run
Yes skip you may then stride along
TAPPETY TOE
I'm a toe tapping, hand clapping, happy kind of soul
He sought me He bought me He shed His blood for me
My toes are itching always twitching to tap a rhythm out
So let me tap let me clap if the spirit moves me along
TOE TAPPING HAND CLAPPING
I'm a toe tapping, hand clapping, happy kind of soul
He sought me He bought me He shed His blood for me
My toes are itching always twitching to tap a rhythm out
So let me tap let me clap if the spirit moves me along

I'M SINGING SHOUTING
I'm singing shouting there's no doubting
The world in shock but the solid Rock
I will not doubt my way out
Oh yes I'm singing my cheers are ringing
THE SUMMER SEAT
Where the rose drops her perfume
All the garden is in bloom
There I view God's handiwork
I remember once He prayed
But death failed in her bid
I enjoy my time here looking
YOU CAN DIG
You can dig and you can sow
Water and weed hour by hour
To grow unless He will bid
He breathes life into every plant
On every stem He puts a flower
THE TIRED OLD GARDENER
He sat silently on his bench
He spoke softly the old gardener
With the green of the lawn
You give me a half acre Lord
You filled your half with docks
But I knew you were a wildlife gardener
But I know you helped me Lord
Thank you dear Lord for the pleasure
Now Lord I'm old and bent with care
Oh Lord forgive me my flowing tears
I long for your garden up above
Take your gardener home Lord
THE CHAIN
The chains of sin get tighter
He gives you a heavy load
There is One who is standing
He can unloose the fetters
His blood it washes the deepest sin
Go seek Him while He is willing
THE GREEN JUNIPER TREE
In the soft freshness of the morning
From the bird and the humming bee
The voice of a grazing cow
There grew the green juniper tree
He dreamt once again he was young
The boy had set up in innocence
Jesus dear Jesus I need you
He knew in his heart Jesus answered
The dream led him strangely on
He saw them lay him down
He then saw streets of gold
He awoke from his fitful sleep
THE MAN AT THE GATE
Who is that my sister lamb who stands at yonder gate
Don't you remember my brother lamb when we went astray
He is the good shepherd He guards us night and day
Oh my sister lamb I just love this shepherd of the sheep
GOD'S BOOK
A little girl came into a room one day
The little girl thought for a moment
Yes many a Bible lies unopened
Yet it is treated so lightly
So if you dont want to read it
