A little girl came into a room one day
While her mother hoovered the floor
She saw an unopened Bible on the table
And with questioning eyes she did
implore
Mummy whose is this dusty book
Her mother answered back with a nod
Why my child don't you know
This book belongs to God
The little girl thought for a moment
Then in her innocence she said
Don't you think we should give it back
to him
For in this house it is never read
Yes many a Bible lies unopened
It's pages never once turned
It's words were breathed from almighty
God
For it's truths many have died and
burned
Yet it is treated so lightly
Although it comes at great price
It offers you the words of salvation
But it is only opened up once or twice
So if you dont want to read it
When it tells of life beyond the sod
Your neglect of this precious book
Is like handing it back to God
